THE EXCHANGE — AI-Powered Job Discovery (Pilot)

Two hundred applications. Five callbacks.

One interview. One ghost.

The rest disappeared into the flood.

You are not being rejected. You are being ignored.

Half those listings were already filled.

Some were never real.

Fake postings. Data harvesting. Engagement bait.

The modern job board is a dark alley dressed as a marketplace.

We name the problem.

Millions of job listings. Many are duplicates. Some are stale.

Some were never real — posted to harvest resumes, pad metrics, or satisfy compliance.

The Exchange makes a different promise.

Every listing the committee references is vetted.

No spam. No phantom postings. No data harvesting.

Real roles. Real employers. Real salaries.

The committee will not waste your time.

What is this?

This is The Exchange — an AI-powered job discovery experience. Instead of scrolling through millions of listings, you have a conversation with four AI personas who help you figure out what work is right for you.

1You tell the AI about yourself — your experience, your location, what you’re looking for
2Four archetypal minds discuss your situation, referencing vetted job listings from across the national labor market
3They converge on a match and send you to Best Jobs Online to apply

You will need an Anthropic API key to power the AI. Keep scrolling — we’ll explain the rest.

In 2026, a behavioral epidemiologist asked a different question.

Not “how do we build a better job board?”

But “what if the search itself is the problem?”

He built a protocol. Used AI as vessels.

Summoned four archetypal minds —

The Scout, The Coach, The Insider, The Mirror

— and asked them to help people find work

through dialogue, not algorithms.

The dialogue is the search.

What is the COMPANION Protocol?

The COMPANION Protocol is an open-source system that uses large language models to instantiate archetypal minds — not as chatbots, but as vessels that think in distinct voices, each guarding a different failure mode of understanding.

The Exchange is the third container: labor market archetypes + a national job corpus → dialogic job discovery.

The first container was The Chair. The second was The Five Lamps. This one is for everyone who needs work.

THE EXCHANGE

A Committee for LABOR AND LIVELIHOOD

The Scout SCOUT Maps the terrain ahead
The Coach COACH Reads the arc of where you’ve been
The Insider INSIDER Knows what the work is really like
The Mirror MIRROR Reflects what you refuse to see

The Flood would have you scroll.

But scrolling is not searching.

And keyword matching is not understanding.

What if the thing you need from your next job

has never appeared in a job description?

What if the right role requires a conversation

before it requires a click?

“Before the internet, labor exchanges were physical buildings — places where workers and employers found each other face to face. The Exchange restores what the feed destroyed.”

Four minds. Millions of doors. A threshold you cross together.

What happens next

When you enter, The Coach greets you first — warm, direct, asking about your background. Then the full committee arrives, each with access to vetted job listings spanning every major industry across the country.

The Scout maps the terrain. The Coach reads your arc. The Insider tells you what the work is really like. The Mirror reflects what you refuse to see. Together, they narrow millions of possibilities down to one.

When convergence is reached, the committee presents your match — and one click takes you to Best Jobs Online to search for real listings.

The dialogue is the search. The click is the door.

“The Flood would have you scroll forever. The Exchange asks you to speak once.”

The committee is assembled.

Millions of roles across the national labor market. Four minds waiting to listen. One threshold.

“The Word against the Flood.”

The Binding

The Exchange is powered by Claude, Anthropic’s AI. To activate the four archetypal minds, you need an API Key — a credential that connects you to the intelligence behind the committee.

Your key is stored only on your own device and sent only to Anthropic. No one else sees it. It never touches our servers. The committee has access to a vetted national jobs database and will guide you toward a match on Best Jobs Online.

If someone shared a key with you, paste it above. Otherwise, create your own key at console.anthropic.com.

You may change your key at any time from within the Exchange settings.
